ok so i've literally just been lurking this whole thread reading everything and not sure if this is dumb but i feel like i learned more about bacteriostatic water storage in the last 10 minutes than i have in months of googling so thank you all lol
T_Ortega_Lifts wrote:- Wipe the septum with alcohol EVERY single time before you draw
- Use a clean needle for drawing your BW (not the same pin you're injecting with)
this is actually exactly what i needed to see written out like that because i honestly wasn't 100% sure if i was supposed to use a separate needle for drawing the BW vs injecting and now i feel kind of embarrassed that i didn't know that but also glad i know it now? i've been doing the alcohol wipe at least so maybe i haven't been totally hopeless haha

yeah this clicked for me in a way that gainz's original explanation (no offense gainz, your follow up was good too!) didn't quite. like the benzyl alcohol isn't magic it just buys you more time IF you're also being careful about technique. that makes way more sense to me now.
also not sure if this is relevant but for anyone else reading who's new like me - the compounding pharmacy tip from OP is genuinely something i had never even thought to look into. i've just been paying whatever the online vendors charge because i didn't know there was another option. so yeah, definitely looking into that locally now.
and yeah i'm also kind of waiting on OP to answer those three questions about the sleep stuff because honestly i'm a little curious for my own reasons too, not to hijack the thread or anything

I've run ipamorelin for a couple years now specifically for sleep. Started it for GH pulse reasons and the sleep improvement was the thing I noticed first and most consistently.
That said I'm not going to say anything else about it until OP answers the actual questions we've been asking since two pages back.
Fall asleep or stay asleep. How long has this been a problem. What are you running if anything.
Three questions. Still waiting.

I have to admit that comment made me pause. The fringe end of this space has gotten genuinely difficult to distinguish from parody at times.
On the Huberman point I think GrumpyOldResearcher is being appropriately fair - not dismissive, not uncritical. The underlying circadian physiology he discusses is largely grounded in legitimate research, much of it from groups like Satchidananda Panda's lab at the Salk Institute working on time-restricted feeding and circadian rhythm entrainment, and some solid work from the Czeisler group at Harvard on light exposure and melatonin suppression. The issue is more about the gap between the presentation and the actual complexity of individual variation. What works reliably as a population-level intervention may not be the specific lever for any given individual.
Which brings me back to the core question that I, GrumpyOldResearcher, T_Ortega, biohack_bella, and now essentially gainz_peptide_bro have all been circling:
xX_SleepQueenXx, I want to ask one additional thing that nobody has raised yet - you mentioned falling asleep at 2am and running on four hours. Is this a pattern where you are actively awake and unable to sleep until 2am, or is it more that you simply are not attempting sleep until that time? Because delayed sleep phase versus behavioral late sleep timing present very differently and have meaningfully different implications for what is actually happening physiologically.
That distinction matters quite a bit before anyone moves toward any kind of intervention, peptide-based or otherwise.

LMAOOO grumpy coming in with the assist, i genuinely spit out my preworkout reading that. the mitochondria humming guy is a real menace to this community fr
but yeah nothing to add at this point that hasnt already been said 5 times lol. whole thread is just waiting on OP at this point. we got like 6 ppl locked and loaded ready to actually help and OP has gone ghost on us
OP if ur still running on 4 hours just come back and answer the three questions - sleep onset vs maintenance, how long its been going on, and what ur currently running. thats literally it. could be something super simple, could be worth looking into peptides, but we cant do anything useful until we know which situation ur actually in
also shoutout to the original pharmacy tip tho bc that was genuinely useful and got somewhat buried under the sleep tangent lol. compounding pharmacy for bw is one of those things where once u know u know

gainz_peptide_bro wrote:also the compounding pharmacy tip is still the MVP of this thread lets not forget that lol
bro YES lmao like OP came in with actual useful info and now half the thread is a sleep clinic waiting room hahaha
but nah fr tho, everything everyone said is on point. im also in the "waiting on OP" camp at this point. like we got grumpy, T_ortega, bella, gainz all basically asking the exact same 3 questions and OP has not come back yet

classic forum move, drop the thread and disappear
T_Ortega_Lifts wrote:- Wipe the septum with alcohol EVERY single time before you draw
- Use a clean needle for drawing your BW (not the same pin you're injecting with)
also just wanna say T_Ortega's little checklist should honestly be stickied somewhere bc i see SO many people skip the separate draw needle step and its like bro ur literally just asking for contamination issues. takes 2 seconds and its not even expensive. thats the stuff that makes the 28 day conversation kinda irrelevant if ur being sloppy about it anyway
and yeah re: the pharmacy tip - i actually called around to a couple compounding pharmacies in my area after seeing threads like this before and the price difference is genuinely INSANE. like why are we paying vendor markup on literal water with BA in it lol. OP did us all a solid
OP come back and answer the sleep questions!! we're all invested now

ok GrumpyOldResearcher you just made my entire week with that mitochondria humming comment because I know EXACTLY who you're referring to and I went down that rabbit hole about 18 months ago during what I now lovingly call my "I will believe anything if it's said with enough confidence" phase of biohacking lmaooo
GrumpyOldResearcher wrote:at least she's not citing that one guy who insists you need to hum at a specific frequency to activate your mitochondria or whatever. We've had worse.
Honestly this is the most generous thing you've ever said to me on this forum and I'm going to screenshot it for posterity
And yeah I actually appreciate the Huberman caveat because you're not wrong. I think the reason I keep coming back to that content is less about the information being groundbreaking and more about the framing of sleep as something you actively
engineer rather than just something that happens to you or doesn't. That mental shift genuinely changed how I approach my whole evening routine. But you're completely right that morning light and consistent wake times is not exactly rocket science, it's just that the neuroscience wrapper makes people actually
do it which has some value even if the underlying info isn't novel.
Anyway I'm dying that we now have basically the entire active userbase of this thread camped out waiting for OP to come back and answer the same three questions we've all been asking for like six posts now. It's kind of beautiful honestly. This is what I love about this community when it's working the way it should - everyone pumping the brakes before someone jumps straight to "just run this protocol" without knowing what the actual problem is.
OP if you're still out there reading this on 4 hours of sleep please come back and tell us what's going on with the sleep because I genuinely want to help and I have
thoughts once I know whether we're talking onset vs maintenance vs just overall quality. And also separately congrats again on the compounding pharmacy find, that tip alone probably made this thread worth posting

biohack_bella_87 wrote:I listen to a lot of Andrew Huberman content (I know, I know, he's everywhere) and the circadian biology piece is something I've really gone deep on over the past year or so.
ok so i dont wanna pile on here bc bella asked good questions and genuinely everything else she said was solid - but i gotta respectfully disagree on the huberman stuff being a major reference point for this kind of thing lol
like grumpy already said it better than i could - its mostly repackaged sleep hygiene with a lot of neuroscience vocabulary thrown on top to make it sound more impressive than it is. dont get me wrong, the morning sunlight thing is real, circadian rhythm basics are real, none of it is
wrong exactly. but when ppl say they've "gone really deep" on huberman content i feel like that sometimes gives a false sense that they've done deep research when really its just... one guys podcast. dude has a whole brand to maintain ya know
for actual GH peptide stuff and sleep optimization the forums, actual studies, and ppl with real hands on experience are gonna serve u way better than 3 hour podcast episodes imo. thats just my take tho
anyway not trying to make it a whole thing, bella ur questions to OP were legit and thats the important part. still just waiting on OP to actually come back and answer everyone at this point lmao where u at SleepQueen

I don't want to name names but let's just say his supplement stack costs more than my first car and involves crystals. That's all I'll say.
